The Montreal Canadiens have built an impressive group of prospects over the past couple of years. Finishing in the bottom of the NHL standings for two consecutive years allows a team to quickly add some top prospects. Trading veteran players and pending free agents for draft picks and prospects just further adds assets to the organization and allows the team to continue the process of rebuilding. World juniors

Every year in December, some of the recent draft picks take center stage as the World Junior Hockey Championship begins on Boxing Day. This is always a great time to fans to take a look at their team’s recent draft choices under the bright lights and see how they perform against the best players in the world that are the same age.

We have seen some great performances from Canadiens prospects in recent years, with players like Ryan Poehling, Cayden Primeau and Cole Caufield taking on starring roles for Team USA. Kaiden Guhle was a beast on the blue line for Canada a few years back and Joshua Roy was a huge reason Canada won gold on home ice last winter in Halifax.
