조선 후기에 활동한 화가.
내용
이명기(李命基)는 조선시대의 화가이다. 아버지인 이종수(李宗秀), 동생인 이명규(李命奎), 장인인 김응환(金應煥, 1742~1789) 역시 모두 화원이었으며, 이종수와 김응환으로부터 그림을 배웠다.[1] 특히 이명기는 정조(재위 1776~1800) 연간에 도화서 화원으로 활동하며, 어진 제작에 참여하고 수많은 관료 대신들의 초상화를 그리며 이름을 높였다.[2] 이밖에도 산수인물화, 고사인물화, 시의도(詩意圖) 등의 다채로운 화제를 다루었으며, 세련되고 개성적인 필치가 특징적이다.[3]
