청주 신영호 고가

이 집은 독립운동가인 신영호(1902~1947) 선생의 생가로, 충청도 양반가의 전형이라고 할 집이다. 조선말 1881년(고종 18)에 지은 것이다. 정면 5칸, 측면 4칸의 ㄱ자 팔작 지붕집의 안채이다. 본래 사랑채와 곳간채, 마고 등 부속건물이 있었으나, 한말에 신정식이 살았을 때에 의병의 숙식을 제공했다는 이유로 일본군에 의해 소실되고 안채만이 남아 있다. 이집은 일제시대 민족 교육의 목적으로 창설된 대활단의 본거지 이기도 하였다.	This house is the birthplace of Sin Yeong-ho (1902-1947), an independence activist. Built in 1881, this house shows the typical architectural style of aristocratic residences in the Chungcheong-do area. Originally, there was a men’s quarters, as well as auxiliary structures such as a storehouse and a stable. However, because Sin’s father provided accommodation for the Korean civilian army, these buildings were destroyed by Japanese soldiers. Now, only the women’s quarters remains.
