This year is the 1,100 year of Goryeo Dynasty. And because Ganghwa is the capital of Goryeo, there are various relics of Goryeo. I thought that it was an experience that I did not know about Goryeo because it allowed me to do many activities related to Goryeo in school. The biggest reason why I felt that I had to participate was because I heard that the camp was conducted in English first and that it was related to Goryeo which I had been exposed to a lot in school. Next, I wanted to have various experiences in English and explain the history of Goryeo that the native teacher who came to help us does not know about Goryeo. Though I am not good at English or fluent in pronunciation, I thought I was confident that I could explain it to the best of my ability. Moreover, these days, unless I go abroad, I thought this could be a great opportunity because it is rare to see a foreigner in Ganghwa.

Our group consisted of groups interested in education. When our group first got together to decide on the topic, we selected the topic based on the Gukjagam, the largest educational institution in Korea. The reason is that my dream is to be a science teacher of middle and high school, and The school we are currently receiving education was known as Gukjagam and Hyanggyo during the Goryeo Period, so we thought educational institutions were important. Considering the international community, which is an educational institution, we thought it is best to investigate and publish education system, and civil service examination, so we decided on the civil service examination, education system and education institution.

Actually, although I lived in Ganghwa Island was the capital city of Goryeo for 39 years, I did not know it properly. Among them, I knew about the civil service examination of Goryeo, the largest educational institution, the Gukjagam, and Hyanggyo which was a local educational institution. I was knew of the basic information but i can not feel proud. Through this camp, I wanted to be proud of what I did know, and if someone asked about Goryeo, I would like to answer proudly.

The representative thing I learned from this expedition is the basic background of the system and the originality and characteristic of the Gukjagam. Although i knew the civil service examination but i did not know how such a system was implemented. Shuang Ji, a Chinese man from Later Zhou dynasty of China, proposed to King Gwangjong the past system implemented in China to recruit new talent according to Confucian scholarship and ability. And the originality and characteristic of Gukjagam, Gukjagam is a central role in education and the institutions have been strengthened. I felt that the information I knew was really nothing, which I thought was just an educational institution.

What I did before I do the presentation is setting the frame for the basic information and content of the title we selected and took part and translated it into English. Finally, I was involved in preparing the materials for the presentation.

When I came to the Global Issues Forum Camp, I think I have learned a lot of information about Goryeo. Of course, I know it from the perspective of education, but I think I have strengthened the basic knowledge a little bit. And I think if friends ask about Goryeo, I can explain information more confidently than anyone else. It was good to speak English here in camp that I do not usually use and I feel I have to study history and English harder. If I can join this camp again next year, I will definitely participate in it.

We are all students who dream of education. In commemoration of the 1,100 year of the foundation of the Goryeo, the theme we have prepared is " Goryeo's Civil Service Examination, and various educational institutions, including the Royal Academy " Goryeo was a very important subject in the history of education and well developed not only in central educational institutions but also in local educational institutions and private institutes. We can learn and feel a lot from Goryeo sources who were interested in education.

= '''Goryeo's Civil Service Examination'''=
==Explanation about the Civil Service Examination==
’과거제‘ was the national civil service examinations under the Goryeo. It was at the time of Gwangjong, the fourth king of Goryeo, who started the exam system in goryeo dynasty. King Gwangjong thought that for strengthening the royal power, there should be more people loyal to the king . the ’과거제‘ was first created by the chinise king named munjae who was the king of sunara and after seven years it was introduced to korea by the then minister named Ssanggi So, he accepted the suggestion of 쌍기 Chinese students and put the exam system in place. this is how, he he selected officials of high level for his kingdom. Also the Goryeo's Civil Service Examination had the following characteristics. The first point to point out is that no 'military examination' were implemented. Although it was installed in 1390 (The third year of gongyang reign) and it actually happened during the Joseon Dynasty. Even in the period of atheism , no 'military examination was implemented. They selected people with outstanding military skills and physical conditions and added them to the team without any training. He formed a unique priestly relationship between an examination administrator, and a person who passed the exam, by forming a unique relationship with a priest called mentor and munsaeng. In the Civil Service Examination, it was a test selected by the king, but because it was not possible to do so, a examiners were used. They are two examiner called examination administrator and associate examiner. The relationship between the examiner and tester continued throughout whole life. Their relationship gradually escalated. In addition to the Civil Service Examination, which values the ability of individuals, the protected appointment, which values family lineage, was implemented simultaneously. The system made them were able to transmission by heredity of job.

== Background of the Civil Service Examination==
It was the ninth year of Gwangjong (958 years) of Goryeo that the system was first introduced to Korea. This is 371 years after it was implemented in China. Taking the suggestion of a naturalized Ssanggi, Kwang-jong introduced a system of recruiting new talents according to Confucian scholarship and ability. Kwang-jong also needed power who was loyal to him and Goryeo, while controlling those from the vested interest. In the civil service, the system was the most suitable way to recruit that who has no power but has capacity. It was implemented with the aim of strengthening its sovereign power beyond the traditional pro-ethnic regime and achieved the desired results.

==System of the Civil Service Examination==
In civil service examination, the main part of the examination system was civil service literary examinations, but there were also Miscellaneous Examination and monk examination
After passing the exam, a Buddhist monk could become an official. However, It is hard to say that officer of the crown was selected based on its ability because it also implemented protected appointment that enables the administration to become an officer of the crown without taking civil service examination. The law allowed above the rank of commoner to apply in the civil service examination, but the classic examination and composition examination was mostly applied by the nobles and local functionary. Composition Examination focused on literary talent and policy, and Classics examination focused on understanding the canon. Miscellaneous Examination was a test to select technical centers for law, accounting, and geography
== Explanation about educational institutes==

<big>
*Royal Academy(Kukjagam)
</big>

Royal Academy(Kukjagam) is a public educational institution same as national university. There are many interesting features about Royal Academy. The same three headings are taught but the qualifications for admission were different. Master and assistant taught the three headings. With the development of private schools, public schools have weakened at the period of Munjong. So Yejong changed the name of the royal academy from Kukjagam to Kukhak. There are difference according to which king is in power.

<big>
*Local Confucian academy(Hyanggyo)</big>

Local Confucian academy(Hyanggyo) is also a public educational institution to teach confucianism in local. If you want to understand why the Local Confucian academy is necessary, you have to know the background history. After Wang Gun, the kings of Goryeo tried to organize a political power structure based on confucianism, the new political ideology. In this trend of history, the political will to diffuse confucianism to base society was appeared. That’s why the necessity of Local Confucian academy was increased.

== Goryeo's private school and it's influence on the Civil Service Examination==
Mun-heon-gong-do is also called Lord Chancellor Ch’oe’s Disciples.
In the middle of the Goryeo period, Choichung set up a Nine Hall Institute. Therefore, when the Public education was shrinked, Goryeo tried to promote the national studies by putting 7 items and Fund for Nurturing Worthies into Royal Academy. In the year 1068, when choi died, nation gave him the title of 'mun-heon', and his follower named his school after ‘mun-heon’. Mun-heon-gong-do had became a representative position of 12 do and was passed down to the Late Goryeo Dynasty.
In the Military Rule, Lee Seungjang studied at sol-seong-jae of Mun-heon-gong-do, and Yi Kyu Bo also attended ‘ seong-myeong-jae’ ,in Mun-heon-gong-do, at the age of 14. In Goryeo biography, 12 do including Mun-heon-gong-do were in an equal position with the Royal Academy, but Late Goryeo Dynasty, With the implementation of the Royal Academy revival policy, It was demoted and serving as the middle location between district school and Royal Academy and was abolished in 1391(The third year of gongyang reign)

== Originality and Value of Royal Academy of Goryeo==
It has a complex structure from the central elite, usually called the international school, to the lower level of education programs, local educational institutions, and auxiliary history. The Royal Academy student was given the privilege of taking the test in the Civil Service Examination. In the test, applicants had to pass a national preliminary test and then pass a national re-examination, Royal Confucian Academy examination. However, after studying for three years in school, The Royal Academy students were exempted from preliminary tests regardless of their grades, and were able to apply in the test through direct monitoring. Furthermore, those with good academic records were exempted from the first or second chapters of the test as well as surveillance. The king, who emphasized Confucianism as the center of education, emphasized Chinese culture during his reign.During the reign of the king, who emphasized inner culture and Buddhism, institutional education tended to slow and private education developed

2018 Global Forum Camp
Essay Writing
Topic: Goryeo's Civil Service Examination, and various educational institutions, including the Royal Academy
Team: Team 6
Name: 박진아
Student Number: 1404

This year marks the 1100th anniversary of the foundation of Goryeo, and it is historically significant. Our school held various activities related to Goryeo during one semester to celebrate the 1100st anniversary of the foundation of Goryeo. I was interested in the Global Issues Forum Camp, which allows me to explore the field of my interest, and I thought that this is an opportunity to grow a little bit more in the field of my interest. I was usually interested in science and education. I was torn between science field and education field, I finally chose education field to understand education of Goryeo and see the modern education system more accurately and critically.
After the team was formed, there was a time for the team to choose a subject of inquiry. I know that During the Gwangjong period of the Goryeo Dynasty, the Civil Service Examination was first implemented and I thought it is meaningful to explore the Civil Service Examination of the Goryeo Dynasty. I suggested this, and we decided to explore the Civil Service Examination of the Goryeo Dynasty and its unique educational institution, the Kukjagam in consultation with my team members.
Our team explored the background and the system of the Civil Service Examination, and educational institutions of the Goryeo Dynasty, the Gukjagam, district school and private schools. In addition we explore the influence of private history on Goryeo's the Civil Service Examination. In fact, I only know about the fact that the system was first implemented during the Gwangjong period of Goryeo Dynasty and the fact that the Gukjagam was a Goryeo's government-operated school. However, as we went on with the exploration activities, we became more aware of the cultural heritage, an educational institution in the period of Goryeo, and of their meaning and value.
At first, it was difficult to communicate with native English teacher, and he was unable to accurately understand Goryeo's past institutions and educational institutions. I explained difficult historical terms in English easily and the teacher could understand our topic. I translated the data into English our team found. it ended much easier and faster than it was to be alone. Our team decided to present through plays and presentations because we thought it would be good to present through presentations, but also to present in plays. I came up with an idea for the theme of the play. also I made costumes for the play.
I think it was an opportunity for me to grow a little more in the field of my interest by participating in the Global Issues Forum Camp. Also, by exploring the education of Goryeo, I were able to view the modern education system more accurately and critically.

The reason I joined this camp was because I felt that the program activity to translate history into English is attractive and wanted to take a step closer to my dream by studying a topic that fits my course.
Our team conducted a survey on the implementation of the civil service system and educational institutions in the category of ' Education of Goryeo '.
The reason why we looked into the civil service system and educational institution was because the civil service system which was implemented at that time greatly helped the maintenance of Goryeo and continued to contribute to the stability and development of the country even after Joseon. It's also because it has produced many great scholars. What I knew about the subject before was a civil service system I had heard about. It was the ninth year of Gwangjong (958 years) of Goryeo that the system was first introduced to Korea. Taking the suggestion of a naturalized Ssanggi, Kwang-jong introduced a system of recruiting new talents according to Confucian scholarship and ability. In the civil service, the system was the most suitable way to recruit that who has no power but has capacity. The most impressive thing we have ever learned was the difference between the Kukjagam, a central educational institution during the Goryeo Dynasty, and Hyanggyo, a local educational institution.
Just to give you a brief introduction..
Royal Academy(Kukjagam) is a public educational institution same as national university. There are many interesting features about Royal Academy.
The same three headings are taught but the qualifications for admission were different. Local Confucian academy(Hyanggyo) is also a public educational institution to teach confucianism in local. Our team planned the announcement to be a short play and a presentation. I found a video underlying to write a scenario for the play that I was going to give in my presentation, and I added additional content to it. (When I wrote the scenario, I can write funny because I thought about acting actors while writing a scenario.) We also found and translated the background of Goryeo's civil service system. (I could make the method of writing English familiar by translating the contents I found.) And I worked with my teammates to decorate props for the play.
As I expected through this camp is that rare chance to speak English, so I wanted to overcome my fear of speaking English by trying a lot of conversation with native English teachers through this camp. Also, I wanted to be more familiar with English with history as well as English by doing various activities other than studying English in a conventional way, and I wanted to raise my interest in English.
I wanted to keep this camp as my special experience by discussing and presenting it in English during the vacation.
The camp isn't over yet, but I enjoy the activities more than I thought, so I think, I did a good job coming like the principal told.
So I want to participate in next English camp.

This year is the 1,100 year of Goryeo Dynasty. And because Gang-hwa is the capital of Goryeo, there are various relics of Goryeo. Moreover, these days, unless I go abroad, I thought this could be a great opportunity because it is rare to see a foreigner in Ganghwa
Our group consisted of groups interested in education. When our group first got together to decide on the topic, we selected the topic based on the Kukjagam, the largest educational institution in Korea.
Ssang-gi naturalized in Hu Ju, China, proposed to Guangjong the past system implemented in China to recruit new talent according to Confucian scholarship and ability. And the originality and characteristic of Gukjagam, Gukjagam is a central role in education and the institutions have been strengthened. I felt that the information I knew was really nothing, which I thought was just an educational institution

Topic : Goryeo's Civil Service Examination and Educational Institutes
Team : 6 , Name : Han Gayoung (한가영) , Student Number : 10122
These days, unless you go abroad, you don't have many chances to talk to foreigners in person.
Also, there are no foreign teachers at the school, so there is no chance to meet them. So, I joined the 2018 Global Forum Camp because I could spend three days talking with a foreign teacher. My dream is to be a middle and high school teacher and among them is to be a math teacher. I think to be a good teacher, I need to know about the previous education methods and institutions. So I decided on this topic to find out about Goryeo's institutions and educational institutions that was established on the Korean Peninsula. In fact, I have already learned about Goryeo in school. The educational institutions of Goryeo were district school and National University, and it was already known that there was a civil service examination for selecting officials. But when I was learning at school, I didn't have enough time to learn the whole contents of Goryeo in a set time exactly. It was difficult to know the details because we learn the basics, namely when and where it made and used like this. So I found out exactly what was going on with the documents. In Royal academy, king who emphasized confucianism strengthened the system for public school and king who emphasized Buddhism strengthened the system for privite education. In district school, the political will to diffuse confucianism to base society was appeared. That’s why the necessity of Local Confucian academy was increased. Like this, I think it was a great opportunity to know the details that were not in the textbooks. On the first day, our group had a lot of thought about the format of the presentation. We were confused how to do it well, but we thought we should do it differently with other group. So we decided to do a play. Originally, We thought of making a video clip, but it would be appropriate to act on the spot with just a few props because of time. So we did a role division. I was a research team. So I did some research on the system of the Goryeo Dynasty, the Royal Academy, and Local Confucian academy. At first, it was not easy to find data. Multiple scattered data had to be gathered and consolidated. Then, I wrote down the lines for our play. Taking advantage of my ability to type well, I started playing videos and writing scripts. But, It turned out to be too short a play to our thinking. I created the script by extending the short lines with my friend and producing the later ones. It would be great if I wore a genuine Goryeo dress to be realistic in the play, but the situation was not the case, so I bought a hardboard and drew a picture with a magic touch. That will be our clothes. Looking at the uniforms on the Internet, he painted them with his magic and painted them one by one. After all, it looked like a uniform and pretty. During this camp, I am now really perfect for the civil service examination, the Royal Academy, and Local Confucian academy. When friends ask, I can answer them and explain them. My mom has been telling me ' Language improves only when used. ' The same was true of English. Actually, when I met my teacher for the first time, I felt really at a loss. I had nothing to say when I first met him, and actually I had something to say, but I couldn't get out of my mouth. But now, I could try to speak with confidence and naturally answer what my teacher said. I was surprised and pleased because my English seemed to have improved. I think it was a good action and a great opportunity that I attend the 2018 Global Forum Camp. I am willing to give it another try if I have a chance later.

When I got the news that global camp will be held, I exactly wanted to participate! In school English class, We study with textbook and test paper. We also learn a little bit fast because we have to take examination. So, I really miss the class that I can use English without strain due to the test. I want to learn English more free! That’s why I signed up. My dream is to become a teacher, especially Math or Science. I met our team members whose dream is to be a teacher. Also, this year is 2018 and Goryeo was established in 918 by Wang Gun. 1100 years of time passed. Our team thought “How about the examination system of Goryeo?”. Then we decided to add Goryeo’s educational estitutes after more thinking in detail. Our topic ‘Goryeo's Civil Service Examination and Educational Institutes’ was created! I learned the history about Goryeo in school class and Goryeo is related to my hometown Ganghwa a lot. We already did a academic festival whose theme is the 1,100th year of the foundation of the Goryeo. So I had quite much knowledge about our topic. This made me more comfortable when I research materials or understand the materials. But there are also lots of things that I didn’t learn. For example, I just knew that Royal Academy(Kukjagam) is a public educational institute similar to the current national university. I didn't know who taught the students and what students had to learn. I felt amazed a lot! Likewise I could learn things more deeply and concretely. I researched materials and write a part of report first day of the camp. I felt little confused what to do at the beginning but I realized what to prepare more and more as time passed. From then on, I translated the Korean writings into English and draw pictures for presentation. It was hard to translate some historical words but the dictionary that teacher Lyndsey said was really useful. I felt so thankful to her. Our team decided to give a presentation by using ppt and play. We prepared a short play that describe Goryeo's civil service examination. My role in the play was a minister who insist to conduct a new examination system. Preparing the play was very fun! I use English with ease at the camp! I not only get improved in my English skill but also I had an interesting time with others. I think I gained many meaningful things by joining this global camp. It will be a memorable experience! In closing, thank you for being our teacher, Manik.

3 days and 2 nights is too big in vacation which is only 2 weeks long. So, when who asked me if you would like to participate in the Global Issues forum, I hesitated a lot. However, I remembered that I became more interested in ' the great woman ' after discussing ' the great women ' with my friends while participating in the global issue forum last winter. I applied again because I had no regrets compared to three days and two nights. I was so tired during the first semester that I fell asleep in a standing position. I had no idea where it went wrong while walking around to wake up. The entrance examination was like a leech, and I thought that if this continues to happen, I would be full of friends who fall asleep in a standing position. So I became interested in education and took this topic because I thought it was definitely meaningful to learn about the education of Goryeo in the 1100th year when Goryeo was founded. I studied about Lee Gyu-bo while preparing a play script at a school marking the 1100st anniversary of the foundation Gorea. Lee Gyu-bo was a examination administrator of past tests and he memorized the fact that he passed the national examination. And I like Korean history, so I remember learning hard about the educational institution while studying about the lifestyle of Goryeo. In particular, the names were not awkward because there was a local Confucian academy(hyang-gyo) next to my school and had experienced the tea ceremony there. However, I did not know very much about what it learned at Royal Academy(Gukjagam) or local Confucian academy(hyang-gyo) and any others, because it was not important for the exam and I thought that I couldn't find out about because it existed a long time ago. However, the name " Gukjagam " was interesting and I woder it because i have its lack of details aroused curiosity. Through this opportunity, what we found out about the royal academy was the division of the department of study and technology in the royal academy. Through this opportunity, what we found out about the royal academy was the division of the department of study and technology in the royal academy. It was a refreshing shock to see the technical department in the royal academy, the gateway to establishing Confucianism into its moral values. It was also expected that there would be a limit on admission to the department, but it still made me wonder. And the reason why the system was implemented was interesting. Gwang-jong introduced national examination to overcome the influence of the local gentry and discover the talent to govern with him. Before then, no matter how smart he was, it seemed to be too unfair that if his parents aren't the nobility, their posterity can't join government. I was an vice leader of the team. I was so nervous and worried that I couldn't do well because this is my first time in education. However, I slowly set up a table of contents, found some materials, wrote a play script, and made ppt data. It was especially interesting to learn how to post on Wiki media. It was my first experience that I could be the editor of a dictionary myself. Not only do I find out what I was curious things about during class, I can share it with my teammates, but I have already gained a lot from the experience of using the wiki media to share more with unspecified individuals. It is regrettable that I have not talked with my team teacher, Manik. It is true that I did not have time to speak because of the vast amount of material I have to find, but I know too little vocabulary in English to express what I think and want to say. If I meet my teacher again during winter vacation, I will say with confidence that it is good to meet you.

" A nation that forgets its history has no future, " Prime Minister Winston Churchill said and this sentence is very famous and important to say so. It tells us that knowing the history and the past can lead to the present and future development. Most people know this, but they're not doing like it. Let me ask you a question. " What comes to your mind when you think of 'Goryeo'? " Most people, including me, only think very famous or very basic thing like the Goryeo celadon, the Tripitaka Koreana and Wang Gun. Even there are some people who can't think of anything. But as I said above, knowing the past is a priority for the changing present. Goryeo is an excellent period of cultural and educational changes. Through such education of Goryeo, we will be able to achieve and feel many things. So, let's learn about Goryeo's Civil Service Examination and education.

First of all, I am participating three times, Summer Global camp in 2017, Winter Global Camp in 2017, and Summer Global Issue Forum Camp in 2018. But I did not have a chance to connect with this land , because at first I had to choose topic 'Ganghwa's Azalea Festival' and then I participated the camp with the topic 'Compare to korea education with other countries'. For me, the Global Camp, which was held on the 1100th anniversary of the foundation of Goryeo, was a good opportunity to learn about the education of Goryeo, which is very closely related to Ganghwa. That's why I'm also joining this global camp.

Until we chose the theme of ' Goryeo's Civil Service Examination and educational institutions, ' our team was deeply concerned. When asked, ' Why do you think Goryeo is famous? ' Most people refer to cultural heritage. I've never seen anyone say, " It's because of Civil Service Examination " Even I, who is dreaming of education, didn't even think about that. In fact, Goryeo was a very good educational time as the Civil Service Examination started primordially. I reflect on myself for overlooking this point, and we are as a team of interested in education, I wanted to examine the core contents of Goryeo, Civil Service Examination of Goryeo and educational institutions. I also believe that if we research the education of Goryeo, we will find the key to develop our current education as well.

I am ashamed to say that I did not know much about Civil Service Examination and educational institutions of Goryeo. Simply, I knew that there were Gukjagam, Hyanggyo, and history. Therefore, I could use this camp as an opportunity to learn more about the basic information and topics of Goryeo's Civil Service Examination and educational institutions to learn the meanings of each system. As I said before, Goryeo introduced the system for the first time. As such, there has been much to learn and great historical achievements.
[[File:과거제도.jpg|thumb|위 사진은 과거시험을 보는 장면입니다.]]

First of all, Civil Service Examination was the way that select officer and hierarchy thtough the test. These systems made Goryeo more open and diverse people appointed and gradually expanding. In addition, educational institutions have developed a lot. The representative institutions are Royal Academy(국자감) and Local Confucian academy(향교) and ‘사학’. These three schools and Civil Service Examination are closely related to each other and have developed together, influencing each other. Through this complex composition, the Confucianism and culture of China were also considered in Goryeo, and the contents of education were changed because of them. Actually, when we looked at the values of the period through classical data, we were impressed with the education level of Goryeo and there are many things to learn a lot.

I unfortunately can't be with my team on the last day. But they trusted me and gave me the position of team leader. I was grateful and sorry for these members, and I was more worried about the last day, so I wanted to try harder. I wanted to help the team as much as I could until the end. First, as a team leader, I supported the team so that they could perform their best with vice team leader . There are many first-grade friends on my team, so I had a lot to help. But I didn't give up and wondered and tried to how to share roles, how I could facilitate communication. Also, I researched materials on the history system of Goryeo and its educational institution, and I were organizing it and explaining it to my team members, and I made a PPT , while considering that how to draw attention to the audience. And I organized the data and upload it to Wikimedia. As I played this role, I tried hard not to hurt my team and I was very happy to have helped them.

Through this camp, I wanted to know more about education in Goryeo. In addition, I looked for materials on Goryeo'sCivil Service Examination and educational institutions, thought about the status of Goryeo, and explained it to my friends, hoping that my friends would be interested in it. In addition I have a mind that our country would further develop through the course of researching the histroy of Goryeo. I also hope that our data will make many people in the world are interested in Goryeo through the wiki, and that our data will be of help to many people.

I am still a freshman, and I participated in the Global Forum Camp for the first time. I think the motivation and purpose of my participation are more clear. I usually have a low grade in English and I am not confident in all of my ability to write, such as grammar, conversation, and writing. So, I always had a mind to improve my English. To become more familiar and familiar with the language, I read the book application and translated the book into English. Then I saw the Global Issue Forum Camp information on the school bulletin board. It said that every word should be spoken in English, and that I should teach with a foreign teacher. And I suddenly thought that the ability to communicate with foreigners in English is very valuable! I really wanted to participate. So I decided that I would not even find a friend to work with, but just blindly participate in this camp. Another reason for such a decision is my friend's strong recommendation. She participated in this camp before and she told me her activities were very good and helpful.

As my friend said, it was very informative and meaningful to discuss the field of our future career with the group members, discuss the topic, research and present the topic. The theme of our group was ''Life of the Goryeo People at the Time the Capital was Moved to Ganghwa''. We divided the tasks into psychology, media, aid worker etc., according to each member's field of interest and do the research according to that.

I was assigned the 'society' part. We wanted to have a special social theme during the Goryeo Dynasty. It reminded me of the people's lives in the days of the military rule as a way of thinking about the social chaos and the society in which it changed. Then another aspect to mention is the reason I joined the 'society' team. My dream is to go to the sociology department in university and become a journalist. This is the goal of my high school life. I like to explore and criticize social problems and issues. So I wanted to do research on a topic about how the lives of the people changed under the military rule and during the Mongol invasions . As I said before, my dream is to be a journalist. So I came up with a structure to do the presentation in a news format.

My specific role is to be a newsmaker, and I wrote a news script for the presentation day. We also added video clips to make the news more attractive. And at the end of the presentation, I wrote an article criticizing the rulers of the Goryeo military regime, looking for examples of tyranny, the life of the poor people, etc. I am really excited to announce it all in a news format. In order to complete the assignments, I had to upload to media wiki what I had learned and researched.

What I knew about this topic before the camp, was that they went through a lot of difficulties and distress. Many died of hunger, and there were many old people and children. Looking for specific examples or facts like this, I think I have learned and understood more accurately about the times. Originally I did not know anything except the fact that Goryeo people used to overcome their suffering by singing songs. But as I looked for more materials I found that people used to sing songs that were called ''Poguak''. I tried to sing myself, but I think, rather than now, I will try to sing later when I am having a hard time or when I am missing someone. I think it will cheer me up. If it works, I will recommend it to those around me.

Finally, By participating in this camp, I learned the situation of the atheistic Goryeo people and atheism more accurately and I think my English conversation with foreign teachers improved. Also, through searching, translating, and preparing for presentation, I have developed cooperation with my group members. Also, when opinions differ on the direction of data research, we seem to have developed caring and understanding, including leadership, in coordination and integration of opinions into one. if I were to learn about dictatorship of the vested interests, the luxury of life, the people who are being more impoverished by it, then I would all be a leader of democracy in my class. I am happy to imagine my future self.

=My Contribution=
==The Difficult Lives of Goryeo People==
I looked for a direct example of Mongolia's invasion, of its people's lives, of its dictatorship. I focused on the situation at that time rather than the trend of the times. When Mongolia invaded Goryeo in 1231, Goryeo was in a difficult situation both at home and abroad. Mongolia invaded the country many times outside, and the Japanese looted the people, and inside, an atheistic revolution led to a new regime of atheism. Unfortunately, the politics of atheism did not live up to expectations. They have all regarded the interests of the people, and there is no time to look at the safety of the people.
For example, ' You bring up my hometown to the prefecture and send comfort to the people. (After the dissolution of the uprising) Soon you send soldiers against our town and capture my mother and wife. I would rather die fighting than give in to the end, and must go to the last place. As it is, atheism is pressuring the people's lives, even though it can not enlighten the confused people. In addition, Song Gil-yu, a regional ruler of Gyeongsang Province, brutally killed people who opposed the relocation.<ref>[https://blog.naver.com/sooji2/140161860053 역사소설가 이수광의 글]</ref> This shows how persecuted the lives of the people were then. Contrary to the people's situation, the privileged people of that time continued to enjoy a comfortable life after reaching Ganghwado Island. King ‘Choi’ used the army to carry garden trees to Seosan to form a forest of dozens. When you look at the records of these behaviors, it's very doubtful if you're a representative of a country. Furthermore, rather than providing active resistance, the Choi administration has relied on the geographical advantages of Ganghwa Island and been content with its continued luxury.<ref>『고려사절요』권16, 고종안효대왕 3 을사 32년 5월</ref> This is why it is assessed that the transfer was not a tactical value or diplomatic effect, but rather a means for Choi to protect his regime and to ensure the safety of some of the ruling groups.<ref>『고려사절요』권17, 고종안효대왕 42년 3월</ref> <ref>『고려사』권121, 「열전」34 [효우</ref> <ref>[http://contents.history.go.kr/front/hm/view.do 최우의 호화스런 강화 생활]</ref>

This time, the school held a lecture to celebrate 1,100 years of Goryeo. However, I did not understand the subject matter because I have been learning Korean history for a long time by choosing the science course. So I was ashamed of myself for being ignorant of history, and I wanted to know about history. And because I live in Ganghwa Island, which is closely connected with the Goryeo Dynasty, I thought I should know more about the history of Goryeo. Also, I really wanted to participate this opportunity because I never participated in the global camp when I was in the first grade, and because the theme of this global camp was related to the 1,100 years of Goryeo. And I joined the global camp because I want to research more about my favorite field.

I chose the theme ' Goryeo and Women. Because of 'Gangnam station murder' and 'Hyehwa Station protest' got interested in feminism. Women have been living under physical and mental oppression for a long time and that is a problem. A lot of people the meaning of feminism feminism and getting recognized differently and think bad influence on society. But feminism is never a sport that doesn't become harmful to society. Key to the women's rights and equal opportunities in the definition of feminism in which encompasses the various forms of social and political movements and theories. Society's wrong structure and perception of women will surely change. Therefore, I also chose this topic to help promote women's rights. Also, my dream is broadcasting PDAs and I want to change these social conflicts and people's perception by broadcasting. I want to solve our social problems by correcting them and broadcasting the right ones. I had no idea of the lives of women from the Goryeo and Joseon periods. During the Joseon Dynasty, women would not have dreamed of entering society, and I knew only that they had to follow their husbands. Also, it is really hard to find a woman among great men in history books. Therefore, no matter how talented women were, they could not spread their talents. Also, there would be no freedom for women because of serious discrimination between men and women. Based on this topic, the data revealed a new look of women from the Goryeo Dynasty.

Surprisingly, during the Goryeo Dynasty, women had the same status as men. She was guaranteed free time to ride horses when she went out. In the Goryeo Dynasty, it was common for men to be married and women to marry again freely. In addition, they did not discriminate against their sons or daughters by birth order when they were listed in their family tree. In the Joseon Dynasty, women were not allowed to freely act outside and have limited knowledge. After her marriage, she had to go into her in-laws ' family and live with them. Even the son of a married woman forced loyalty from a woman by banning her from entering government service. When comparing Goryeo and Joseon, Confucianism played a very repressive function for women. Although women from Goryeo had an advantage over women from the Joseon Dynasty, that does not mean that the status of women from Goryeo was high. Pre-modern women had no operational scope but their homes. In this respect, we can see that the status of women in modern society has risen considerably compared to that of women in the past. But that doesn't mean that women's human rights are guaranteed at the moment. Through this activity, it was possible to know and compare the women of Goryeo and Joseon periods with the women of today.

As an assistant manager of Article 3, I researched the lives of women during the Joseon Dynasty and translated the status of women during the Joseon Dynasty.

I will be interested in human rights through this global camp and through this research, Furthermore, I hope that those who read this study will realize the link between human ethics and history, and combine it with reality to learn about the human rights abuses committed around us.

=Introduction=

This year since May 19th, demonstrations have continued at Hyehwa Station. The protest, according to the organizers there were around 12,000 people participated in the first demonstration, 22,000 people participated in the second demonstration, and around 60,000 people participated in the third demonstration, which was not a problem for the demonstrators. These protest were beyond simple demonstration and kind of shocking. In this protest people shouted the slogan for “The advancement of women's right” based on feminism, which is emerging in Korean Society. Various media as well as SNS are promoting the demonstration and also sharing their opinion about it. This proves that Korean society is dealing with the women’s right very seriously.

In the history of Korea, women suffered physical and mental oppression for a long period of time, until we accepted this as a human rights abuse. What do you think about the condition women during Goryeo Dynasty? This year , on 1100th anniversary of Goryeo Dynasty, we need to think about the women who lived during Goryeo dynasty. Now we can’t help them but at least think about their condition during Goryeo period.

This study will analyze and contrast the life of women in Goryeo Dynasty, Joseon Dynasty which means a complete decline of women’s status and Modern Society by showing the lives of them. Through this study, we would like to send a small message that could help to solve the problems of our society and urge us to solve them.
==The Status of Women in the Koryo Dynasty==
1) Women's status during the Goryeo Dynasty

During the Goryeo Dynasty, women's social advancement was not the same as men's. However, the status of women between social and family members was relatively equal compared to that of the Joseon Dynasty. We explored the social characteristics of women in the Goryeo Dynasty.

During the Goryeo Dynasty, Women’s remarriage and divorce were free.
As Goryeo had no social antipathy to remarriage, it was possible to remarry if conditions were okay. According to some historical record the queen during Goryeo dynasty married again, which was common during that time. And there was no idea that Goryeo should have continue a family dynasty or exist a son preference. Therefore, if families of Goryeo had no children, they were able to go back to their home and make a new life after the divorce.

The sons and daughters were given equal portions of their wealth, and the ancestral memorial services were equally divided. As she inherited her property without distinction of sex, she was also given a duty. During the Goryeo Dynasty, daughters were able to inherit equally as their sons because they were the main masters of their duties. The right to inherit an equal property was accompanied by the obligation to perform ancestral rites equally. This is called " Yoon Haeng " the chinese character Yoon means " wheel " and " Yoon Haeng " means " Do thing by turns. " This means that the person who performed ancestral rites is not responsible for them, but that they are held in turn by their brothers and sisters.

The woman possessed her property independently. With the inheritance of children, women were able to own a large amount of property and remain their property after the marriage ended.

Women could have been head of family, and the family registry could have been listed in chronological order without discriminating between children. This means that women can exercise property rights or inheritance rights. According to this fact, the Goryeo Dynasty is referred to as a bilateral pro-communist society, which puts a similar weight on the blood line on the mother side, unlike the Joseon Dynasty, where only the blood line was emphasized.

During the Goryeo Dynasty, daughters and sons were given almost equal opportunities in the inheritance of status. If their ancestors did not pass on much property, they could increase their wealth by as much as possible while serving in the government, which would have made them more important to them. ' In pre-modern society women were not allowed to be officials, so naturally the inheritance of a daughter's status was given to a man through her. The target at this time was none other than her husband or son. In other words, in Goryeo, a system was in place to allow the sons and grandchildren to enter government service on the basis of their ancestors ' virtues, while those who could not only benefit from the books were in high order. Back then, the benefits of the school were not only for the male to male family but also for the daughter to daughter family. In other words, the inheritance of status shows that men and women were treated almost equally.

Monogamy was common.
The time when Goryeo was subjugated in Yuan Dynasty to claim monogamy, and when Yuan Dynasty did not ask for a daughter from Goryeo, not only the daughter of the royal family, but also the godless.

The man lived in his in-laws for a long time after his marriage.
When a woman enters her husband's residential area, women are subject to male authority because she is absorbed into the husband's family. On the other hand, a family system in which a husband is married is a phenomenon that occurs in a society with maternal relatives. Therefore, if you look at the rate of residence, you can estimate to some extent the status of women in the family and society.

An Example of a Woman's Status in the Goryeo Dynasty
- Buddhist monk Jin-hye : The ambassador she received is a higher level of succession than the " Daeduk, " which male monks received after they passed the bar during the Goryeo Dynasty. Although there is a limit to what was given after death, it is almost the only case in which she received the position of ambassador as a female monk through 500 years of Goryeo. In this case, the ambassador believes that she demonstrated the status of women in Buddhism during the Goryeo Dynasty.
- Thorn of Goryeo Dynasty Yeom Kyung-ae was buried next to her father after her death, and her daughter returned to her home when her husband passed away.

==The status of women in the Joseon Dynasty==
2) The Status of Women in the Joseon Dynasty

● A change in the status of women in the Joseon Dynasty
- Women's status, such as the Goryeo Dynasty, continued until the early Joseon period and gradually declined after the mid Joseon Dynasty.
- In the early Joseon Dynasty : Chinjeongsari( She lives with her family even after she got married)
- After mid Joseon: married life in the home of the husband's parents

Until the Goryeo and mid Joseon periods, the status of women had not changed significantly and discrimination was also small. Discrimination was not so much, and you can feel the atmosphere for freedom. Therefore, Goryeo was considered to have a good image for woman in the history of the Korean Peninsula. However, these women's positions were gradually changed by the change of the country and Neo-Confucianism.

● Reasons for Gender Discrimination in the Joseon Dynasty

The emphasis on gender discrimination due to Confucianism.
By the late Joseon Dynasty, women's social status decreased even more.

Confucianism played a big part in the existence of gender discrimination in the Joseon Dynasty.

● A woman's life

Women in the Joseon Dynasty were discriminated against in many ways. First, there were difficulties in remarrying. Since the mid Joseon Period, when women lost their husbands, they never dreamed of getting married again. It was not impossible to remarry, but there was a law in which the children of a remarried woman could not see the past. During the Goryeo Dynasty, many people did not hesitate to remarry or even become queen through remarriage, but during the Joseon Dynasty, more and more people opposed remarrying.

Second, there was discrimination in the inheritance of wealth, limited social activities, and limited living, such as focusing only on household chores. Seven cardinal vices are the seven wrongs a husband can kick out his wife. The Confucian religion developed from ancient China. ⓵ not taking care of parents-in-law ⓶ not having a son ⓷ A dishonest act ⓸ Jealousy ⓹ having a genetic disorder of leprosy and epilepsy ⓺ A talkative person ⓻. stealing, 3 and 7 are becoming illegal in modern times, but the remaining numbers represent the necessity of a feudal family system. It seems that women's freedom of life was suppressed as such because they saw women as being forced to follow men.

● Discrimination against women of different social standing

After the 17th century, the status of women changed greatly as they emphasized Confucian ideas. Women were deprived of the right to enjoy outside and only basic knowledge was learned so that limited knowledge would not interfere with women's daily lives. When her husband died, she was banned from remarrying for three years and discriminated against her children by not being able to hold office. This was virtually the same as keeping a woman's chastity. There was discrimination in the family tree, but men were first recorded in the late Joseon period, and then women. Women were not allowed to attend the ancestral rites and were excluded from the inheritance. Also, their identities were strictly divided, so that different women from noble families, Sangmin women, and lower-class people were discriminated against.

1. The aristocracy

During the Joseon Dynasty, social status was clearly divided, and women in the upper class were especially discriminated against men in the upper classes. While men studied and went into the society, women had to keep staying in the house, thus they could have only basic education to keep their daily lives and they couldn’t study professionally. Most of their time at home has led to repressive living such as cooking, welcoming, and serving. It was difficult to remarry a husband if he lost his husband, and if he remarried, his children would not have any government positions, and in the circumstances very few remarriages.

2. General layer

During the Joseon Dynasty, the life of women in the general class was mainly about physical labor. During the Joseon Dynasty, women who were merchants had to do everything, including household chores, farming, and childcare, and were often responsible for making a living. Farming mainly worked in the fields of his household or went to the forest to pick up vegetables, while domestic chores such as laundry, cleaning, and rice were in charge. And like a yangban woman, she had no restrictions on her dress and made it all night after 15 days of hard work to complete a piece of burlap.

3. Slave
Although it is not well documented, he has undertaken hard work in government and in the houses of the aristocrats.

Daily restrictions

With the latter part of the Joseon Dynasty, stricter regulations in women's lives grew every day. The women of the class should refrain from going out, but when they went out, they had to wear things like robes on their heads and cover their faces. When they had to ride the kiln, they had to use a kiln called a jade with a different roof and a clogged roof. It was a social structure of the Joseon Dynasty that women thought they had no ability to solve on their own. A woman is considered incapable of thinking for herself and acting on her own, and if she marries, she must become a member of her husband and dedicate her duties and sincerity as a " protector ".

삼종지도(三從之道) It clearly describes the social status of women at that time. It shows how weak a woman's status is and discriminated against. " A woman must follow her father before she marries him, follow her husband in marriage and follow her child after her husband dies. " The phrase only emphasizes the fact that women follow their husbands without any details about their own lives.

Famous female in Joseon Dynasty
Shin Saimdang, who lived between 1504 and 1551 (the 10th year of King Yeonsan's reign), was raised by her mother while living on her mother's side and learned her literature. She married Lee Won-soo, 19. She didn’t live in her husband’s house but stayed in her house because he was also the son of her mother, who had no son.

Her paintings, letters, and poetry come down, and are the main topics of conversation, including fulbule, grape, flower, orchid and arithmetic. It is a delicate fact, as if it is a lively reality, so when he tried to put out a picture of a full ball in the yard and dry it in the summer, the chicken would come and peck at it.

Scholars ' respect for the Shin Saimdang even higher in the 18th century when the academic value of studying abroad reached its peak, eventually turning her into a symbol of female virtue and motherhood. In other words, the mythology of the Saimdang image was produced throughout the 17th century and formed in the 18th century. Saimdang was a woman who gave birth to Yi in the spirit of sacred heaven

In addition, it appears as a ' Women in the rear ground' and ' mother of a military country ' by intellectuals who have accepted the Japanization

Therefore, Shin Saimdang, a great artist during the Joseon Dynasty, should not be remembered as a good wife and wise mother.

Heo Nanseolheon : More difficult success as a woman.

Heo Nanseolheon was an outstanding literary artist. She grew up in a house with a relatively free atmosphere. Her second brother, Hur Bong-eun, recognized her talent early on, leaving her educated this month. Huh Nan-sul-hun, who showed off her genius as a child, surprised the adults around hers by writing a poem entitled " Baekcheol-sang-gang Gate " at the age of eight.

She married Kim at the age of 15. Hur Nan-sul-hun, who lived in a relatively free family tradition, was not well adapted to the life of a patriarchal family. This is manifest in her poetry. The poem depicting a husband in the beginning of a marriage or a state, he later felt skeptical about marriage and created a poem that created a stir in the male-oriented society.

She died at the age of 27. She made a will to burn all her poems. However, her brother Heo Gyun published a collection of poems she had left at her home and her poems she was reciting to. Nanseolheongbok became popular in China and Japan, and was reevaluated by high ranking intellectuals in the late Joseon period to recognize her as the only poet and outstanding genius in the royal family. But this is all after death. Instead of spreading her poetry widely or getting a proper assessment of her abilities, she lived in chains to manservatism and patriarchy because she was a woman.

==The status of women in the Modern Society==

3) Modern indicator of the women’s right and Feminism

The case of modern women discrimination
Seoul National University has only 15 percent of female teachers, making a serious problem, ‘the glass ceiling.’ In contrast, the rate of women who is contract worker, recorded 75% so it was concluded that the more insecure the employment, the higher the percentage of women. Also, in decision making, sexual inequality is serious. Just 13.3 percent of women in positions participated in decision-making, and only 14 percent of professors at major committees were women. The figure is far below the minimum participation rate of 40 percent for women, which is suggested by the The figure is far below the minimum participation rate of 40 percent for women, which is suggested by the basic law on gender equality.
In addition, if a woman loses her career due to marriage or childbirth, it is difficult for her to re-enter the labor market, which makes the wage gap bigger as she gets older. Dr. Kim Nan-ju, a researcher at the Korea Women's Policy Institute, analyzed the factors that cause the gender gap in the Korea, and men get an additional 4 percent for unknown reasons, while women get 58 percent less.Since 2002, when the OECD started the convey, Korea has been occupied the first class gender gap for 14 years.
This problem is continue in the entertainment world. Na-eun Son who posted the word ‘Girls can do anything’ on her SNS, delete the post because she got lots of malicious comments. And actor Ju-young Lee has to suffer from malicious comments like ‘She is under a delusion, She is Megalian.’ after she express her belief “‘Actress’ is a women-hater word.” Like this, Whenever female entertainers show an autonomous aspect, criticism is inevitable.
This misogyny continued as a life threat in the real world. Last 2016, may 17th, Mr. Kim killed a first women who entered the public restroom in a karaoke booth near Gangnam Station in Seoul. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said Kim has delusional thinking that “Women check and bother me” Based on the fact that Kim committed murder based on delusional thinking, the case is considered a form of schizophrenia. Even the analysis has been made that Kim sent six men to the public toilet in a karaoke room so it called ‘the crime of misogyny.’

Foreign country’s perception of women’s right
CEDAW(UN) pointed out Korea’s women right is lagged that Anti-discrimination laws enactment foundered, continued gender pay gap, Secondary Damage to Sexual Violence victims, Poor response to the Me-too movement and insufficient response to cyber sexual violence. In addition, the Korean law is a problem because it defines rape strictly, adding that CEDAW is based on the consent of the victims.

Feminism’s spread in Korea
With Gangnam station murder, Feminism sport spread into the general public. In the past, they discussed economic discrimination represented as the glass ceiling, but now Feminism became active because women in the public lead it. Especially, not only women but also men have become interested in women's rights with the introduction of the Me- too movement in Korea. Also, the book ‘Ji-young Kim from 1982’ rise to the best-seller, regardless of gender, age announced the Feminism.

Two face of Feminism
In the past, Feminism was popular in elite level, but modern Feminism which the major is female public, there are sexual conflict between public men and public women. The men who oppose to Feminism insist Feminism movements are claim women superiority and criticize men.
Even today’s radical Feminism show men-hater appearance. Internet site ‘Warmard’ not only don’t have male members but also use ‘mirroring’ which benchmark women-hater site’s method. They make fun of all men without distinction of children, disabled people, or old people. Because of this, there are intellection that Feminism stimulate gender battle.

==Comparison of Women’s Status among different time period==

4) comparison

(1) Women of the Goryeo Dynasty who were guaranteed free activities

During the Goryeo Dynasty, women had the same status as men. He was guaranteed free time to ride horses when he went out. In the Goryeo Dynasty, it was common for men to be married and women to marry again freely. When a son was not present, a daughter held a memorial service and her property was inherited equally, regardless of whether she or she was a son. In addition, they did not discriminate against their sons or daughters by birth order when they were listed in their family tree.

(2) A Joseon women controlled by Confucian values

Since the 17th century, women's status has changed greatly as they put more emphasis on Confucian social ethics. Now women could not go outside and be free to act, and there were limitations to acquiring knowledge. After her marriage, she had to go into her in-laws ' family and live with them. After her husband died, she was banned from remarrying for three years, and the son of a married woman forced her to remain faithful to her husband by not entering government service. The family tree has also changed to the style of Seongnam and Human in the latter phase of the Joseon Dynasty. The woman was not allowed to attend the ceremony and was excluded from the inheritance of property. Also, the lives of yangban and sangmin women were very different because of the strict distinction of social status. Hence, the word ' Samjonggido ' was coined. This means that women should follow their father before marriage, marry him after marriage, and follow their children after their husband dies.

=Conclusion=

3. Conclusion

We looked at the lives of women in our history through this study. Furthermore, by analyzing the differences and similarities between the two, we had a brief overview of the history of women's human rights. This activity provided an opportunity to think deeply about human rights, thus human rights, as well as women's rights.

Through this study, we will be more concerned about human rights, and by extension, the authors of the study have come to realize the link between human ethics and history, to integrate it with reality, and thus the violation of women’s human rights that occurs around us even the rights of living creatures in the world.

In addition, they did not discriminate against their sons or daughters by birth order when they were listed in their family tree. The Goryeo Dynasty believed in Buddhism, which focused on individuals, and thus developed a non-religious family structure
This is certainly different from the Joseon women who married to succeed their family, after marriage, they were excluded from inheritance and ancestral rites, banned from remarrying and had to die with her husband.

In this sense, Confucianism played a very repressive role for women. Geology was accepted at the end of the Goryeo Dynasty and paternal idea has expanded. Then, during the Joseon Dynasty, monogamy was emphasized, including the patriarchal family system and the marriage system. Women's fidelity was strengthened and recognized as having to follow through the death of their husbands, giving birth to boys and living with the seven valid causes for divorce in mind. Thoughts are closely related to times. The historical role of neo-Confucianism accepted at the end of the Goryeo Dynasty was to stabilize women's status as wives. However, her status as the wife was only given to the time when she followed the death of a patriarchal family and social structure. Therefore, it is essentially the suppression of women who must be broken.

As you can see above, although a woman from Goryeo had an advantage over a woman from Joseon Dynasty, that does not mean that the status of Goryeo women was high. Pre-modern women had no operational scope but their homes. In this respect, we can see that the status of women in modern society has risen considerably compared to that of women in the past. Much of the restrictions on women's social activities have been disappeared, and all women are free to do what they want to do, and discrimination in terms of remarriage and wealth inheritance has been eliminated. However, gender equality is not completely established. Demonstration for gender equality are also being made and Womadeu, 남혐 the bad direction of the Feminism is appear and sexual conflicts are exist

='''Goryeo celadon'''=
==Origin of Goryeo celadon==
The Goryeo celadon that we talk about as an art piece is a porcelain made of clay and coated with glaze and baked over 1,300 degrees Celsius. In China, jade symbolized a man of virtue and used it as a burial object, believing that it meant eternal life and drove out demons. At that time, the ruling class had many desires for jade and many people wanted to bury jade in their parents ' graves. However, the jade production was so small that they tried to turn precious jade into clay during the period. In Korea, Chinese celadon has been found in ancient tombs between 4 and 6 C, which can be found by importing Chinese celadon as royal jade. The color of Goryeo celadon was an advanced technique 1,000 years ago. In the 3rd and 4th centuries, China created a yellow celadon from Wolju Gama, and was not until the 9th century that it produced perfect celadon. The Buddhist Zen sect, which was widely practiced in China around the 9th century, began to use Goryeo celadon as a tea cup as its practice, as the habit of drinking tea to clear one's mind while meditating. The Chinese made perfect celadon, then the Goryeo people back-track it and created the Goryeo celadon at 11C. Chinese celadon is in its heyday during the reign of Emperor Huizong in 12C, and Goryeo celadon also hits peaks in 12C. We traced the celadon from 1,500 years of study by the Chinese and created it in 200 years. Afterwards, excellent Goryeo celadon started to be produced in Gangjin, Jeolla-do, and Gochang, looking for high-quality soil. In the beginning, Goryeo celadon is usually brown and is made of neat, intelligent, and neat celadon, but in the 12th century, it has been painted with patterns. At that time, the world of Goryeo people was a Buddhist world. They held their hearts in the Goryeo celadon and prayed for eternal world. For example, they used ponds, a world of Buddhist virtues, willow trees, ducks playing along the water, and wild flowers that showed silence and silence. This is why Goryeo celadon, which contains hundreds of years of desire for life, created the most beautiful pottery in the world.
<ref>[https://jgchoi21.blog.me/90028870474 고려 청자의 유래]</ref>

==Techniques used in Goryeo celadon==
● Sanggam technique (상감기법)

The Sanggam technique is to dig a pattern using a sharp carving knife, and then to express a painting with mud deposits on the brush by using a method that can fill the part with more colored mud. Clay shrinks as the moisture evaporates, so it is often formed by the contraction of the other colored soil in the based soil and the intaglioed based soil.

● Intaglio relief technique (음각, 양각 기법)

It is a technique to make a shape of a vessel and dig out a pattern with a fine line before the soil dries, or bend the outer edge of a pattern to show off the pattern. It is the most basic technique from around the 11th century to the end of the Goryeo Dynasty, getting out from the early stage of the production.

● Ron-brown underglaze on white slip and Underglaze slip techniques (철화, 퇴화 기법)

Ron-brown underglaze on white slip and Underglaze slip techniques are techniques that express patterns in a manner that looks like paint on the surface of a baked vessel. The section of the finished product has a layer of earth patterned over the based soil layer, and then a layer of organic material overlaid on top of it, divided into iron oxide and degeneration according to the color of the painting. Ron-brown underglaze on white slip technique is known as iron oxide when it is painted with a black pattern on it. Underglaze slip technique refers to a technique in which patterns are drawn in black and white in the finished product, using red and white soil containing little iron.

● extrude relief technique (압출, 양각 기법)

It is a technique that pushes a properly dried bowl into a frame carved with the pattern of the bowl. This technique let pattern stand out. It can saves more time than carving out patterns one by one, and produces more vessels of the same type. The vessels are usually of many types suitable for printing, plates, and whole, and are usually patterned on the inner surface of the vessel.

● copper oxide Technique (동화(산화동)기법)

oxidized copper is also called jinsa. This is because when you burn it with reductant, it becomes red. However, it is very difficult to make red because copper oxide is very unstable depending on conditions such as temperature control and fuel supply. The copper oxide is expressed only in parts such as the buds of flowers and the edges of petals with an inlaid technique. There are also a few techniques made by painting the front of the bowl with copper oxide. <ref>[https://m.blog.naver.com/PostView.nhn?blogId=gangjingun&logNo=60204404164&proxyReferer=&proxyReferer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.co.kr%2F 고려청자의 기법]</ref>
#Celadon with ‘淳化四年’Treasure number 237 This is a celadon pot with ‘淳化四年’ made in 993 years by the late 10th century, when Goryeo began to make the celadon pot in earnest. It is difficult to see it as a celadon, because it is yellow in color and the glaze is not completely dissolved and is running down. It was used in the shrine of Taejo of Goryeo as it was a highly developed listener in 993 years. Unlike a gas kiln, the success rate of the kiln at that time was less than 20 percent, and we can know how many failures there were through 10 to 15 meters of sediment found in the celadon pot.[[File:청자참외모양꽃병.jpg|thumbnail|The celadon vase with the shape of oriental melon National Treasure number 94 <ref>[http://encykorea.aks.ac.kr/Contents/SearchNavi?keyword=%EC%B2%AD%EC%9E%90%EC%B0%B8%EC%99%B8%EB%AA%A8%EC%96%91%EA%BD%83%EB%B3%91&ridx=0&tot=798 한국민족문화대백과]</ref>]]
#The celadon vase with the shape of oriental melon/ National Treasure number 94 Regardless of the book introducing the Goryeo celadon, it is presented on the first page, the first section, and the first page. As this vase is a vase for kings, it contains the authority of the royal culture. The celadon has a long neck, and the overhang of the head shows the authority the king can have. In the 12th century, Goryeo celadon, which is unsatisfactory with the design ofintaglio decoration or relievo decoration, was characterized by peach, melon, turtle, duck, topsoil, bamboo shoots, and other small pieces of celadon. #Compared to China, which has started to focus on white porcelain, the Goryeo people dug a hole in a bronze bowl and pushed a silver chamber into a pattern or put shells in wood that they were inspired by the lacquerware inlaid with mother-of-pearl’ technique. #The oldest of the Sanggam celadon was not engraved with intaglio decoration or relievo decoration, but patterns, which is believed to have been unearthed from the tomb of Moongong Yuyu, which died in 1159. The Sanggam celadon are the greatest inventions that we have ever made in China. As late as the beginning of the 13th century, 90 percent of Goryeo celadon is made of Sanggam celadon. It is a collection of lotus and lotus flowers, lotus plates, chrysanthemum buds, phoenixes, clouds, willow and waterfowl. A variety of patterns for reading the lyricism of the Goryeo people are represented by the designs of Sanggam celadon. #One of the most luxurious brands of the Sanggam celadon is the Sanggam celadon with a pattern of cloud and crane. Consider the celadon as the blue sky and have a design filled with cirrus clouds and crane.

The largest volume of Goryeo celadon is tea cups, but no record has been recorded, but we can see that the tea culture flourished. Song's old man, 太平老人, also wrote in his book " 袖中錦, " that " Goryeo’s jade green is the best”.

However, just as the style was created, developed, and declined, Goryeo celadon, in the 14th century, slowly suffered interference from the Yüan Dynasty. Practicality is enhanced, but it's dull and dull, its color is dim, and its patterns are reduced.
In the end, potters that make celadon were scattered throughout the country and the era of Goryeo celadon ended.

== A Study on Jade Green Colors in Goryeo celadon==
<ref>[http://www.hani.co.kr/arti/science/science_general/8372.html고려청자의 비취색과 관련한 기사]</ref>

Was not opened to the public because the method of production of Goryeo celadon was secret, and Goryeo celadon gradually declined from the 13th century to the 16th century. So unfortunately, it was not easy to solve now the mystery of Goryeo celadon's non-blown color. But now, it is estimated that there are two results that many scholars have studied about the jade green of Goryeo celadon.

# Some scholars who studied Goryeo celadon argued that the secret of jade green lies in the glaze. The glaze contained iron and silicon dioxide (SiO2), which were combinedm, Silicate iron (FeSiO2) to give the Goryeo celadon a jade green color. This was based on the fact that silicon made up more than half of the glaze.
# According to a recent study, a new theory suggests that the source of jade green is not the silicon of glaze but rather the iron ions (Fe2 +) of iron oxide. Though the based soil and glaze contained only Fe3 +, the fe . Fe3+ ion is greatly reduced after the celadon is baked, the fe2 + amount is based on an increase. The reason why Fe3+ion has been changed to Fe2+ion is because it burns Goryeo celadon from reducing flames. What is reducing flames? To know about reductitis, you need to know about the type of fire that burns pottery, an oxidizing and reducing flames. An oxidizing flame is a fire that is completely clean and burned with sufficient oxygen and is red. On the other hand, it is called reductivitis, which is blue when there is less oxygen and less fuel burning. In other words, in oxidative flames, there is more oxygen left than the oxygen requirements for fire, so the extra oxygen combines with the iron in the based soil, making the color red, Fe2O3. Reductitis flames, on the other hand, is caused by lack of oxygen due to fire in an airtight kiln. They also continue to provide firewood before the fire is completely burned to ashes, causing black smoke and soot to form, leaving the kiln incomplete combustion. This type of reductant causes carbon monoxide to form as the fire burns incompletely. This carbon monoxide pulls oxygen from the receiver's surface to make it more stable to form carbon dioxide, resulting in a lack of oxygen on the receiver's surface. As a result, the Fe2O3, which had been combined with oxygen in the glaze or tatto, lost oxygen and returned to the feO, and that have a blue light. Fe2O3+CO→2FeO+CO2. In other words, the secret of jade green color Goryeo celadon lies in the fact that the iron ions are return from Fe3+ion to Fe2+ion. The research team used advanced technology such as electron microscope and optoelectronic spectrum analysis to reveal the above.
